Q: What information about DAOS can Permessa Email Investigator provide to the administration team and management prior to, during and after the upgrade to Domino 8.5.1 and DAOS enablement.
A: The newly released version 6.0 of Permessa Email Investigator has a number of out-of-the-box mailbox usage reports that now show critical DAOS statistics.
The new reports show storage impact based on traffic on your servers. The results will show total MB utilized without DAOS enablement, with current DAOS enablement, and possible savings with full DAOS enablement (all mail databases).
Other reports include: the daily storage impact by server, individual storage impact per message and by message size. In addition to the existing reports, the report designer allows administrators to create custom DAOS storage impact reports that can be added to reporting portals. Permessa Email Investigator also includes DAOS reports to help with administrative tasks.
Getting the full potential out of DAOS is typically more complicated than just turning on this feature. Permessa provides extra reports that show current DAOS settings by server, highlight potential settings problems, and include an administration view that gives you all information that is only available through the admin client for individual servers.
With Permessa Email Investigator you get a global view across all (or selected) servers, which enables you to identify problems faster.
