Q: How do I know that the IFM data collection server is processing all my server logs in a timely manner? Is there a way I can see and mange how long each server is taking to process the data.
A: Consult the IFM progress meter database - the progress meter has been enhanced for V5.0 of Permessa Control!. All IFM collection activity is logged into a Notes database and the information is grouped by Health Check and Performance.
Health Check Views - give you a live status of the currently executing configuration profile groups. The information is displayed for active tasks and servers waiting to be processed, but shows also the completion states of profiles that have already been processed including today and all of the historical information for past task execution. The completion states range from Fatal Errors to Finished Successfully.
Performance Views - give you the duration in minutes by group and by individual profiles. This information will allow you to redefine the schedule in which IFM executes. This will ensure that you have a complete data set for processing when the reporting tasks run. In addition to group and individual performance statistics the views are organized by day and broken down for individual products so you can manage how long the collection for each product is taking for every server being processed.
Additional Views - these views give you additional information about group and server processing as well as advanced administration information helpful for keeping your IFM data collection infrastructure running tuned and efficient.
