DYS Analytics Releases New Usage Tracker Application Usage Analysis Software

Top-down analysis of enterprise-wide usage patterns across large corporate networks helps reduce IT costs and improve application performance

WELLESLEY, Mass., August 20, 2001 - DYS Analytics, Inc. today announced the release of Usage Tracker, a new addition to the company's CONTROL! family of enterprise traffic management solutions. Usage Tracker helps organizations reduce IT infrastructure costs and improve overall service level performance by providing comprehensive analyses of application usage across the enterprise. Usage Tracker correlates data on user activity and application traffic to produce detailed reports that help organizations cleanup and optimize application deployment and usage across the network.

Lower Costs and Improved Performance:
Application Cleanup and Deployment Optimization

In large distributed network environments, the number of databases and mailboxes that are no longer being used can be considerable, often numbering in the tens of thousands and consuming costly storage space. Usage Tracker helps administrators cleanup their networks by automatically identifying inactive databases and mailboxes and earmarking them for deletion - all without tedious manual effort. This results in substantial and immediate cost savings by freeing up server storage space across the network as well as reducing bandwidth loads.

In addition to cleanup tasks, Usage Tracker optimizes enterprise-wide deployment of Domino applications by accurately measuring database usage across servers, locations and regions for use in load balancing and replication topology planning. Understanding who is using what applications - and from where - enables organizations to optimize the placement of replica copies based on usage patterns. This can have a dramatic and positive impact on enterprise system loads and end user performance and can result in significant cost savings from reduced bandwidth utilization and storage consumption.

Immediate Cost Savings Identified
"Usage Tracker saved us several man-months of effort by quickly and easily identifying abandoned databases and mailboxes that can now be deleted to free up disk space on servers across our network," said Ron Meyers, Notes Manager at Anixter, the world's leading distributor of data communication products and electrical wire and cable. "As a result, we have re-examined our projections for adding more server capacity to our network and will be able to significantly reduce our requirements for additional servers and storage over the upcoming months. We're very impressed!"

"With today's curtailed budgets, IT managers need ways to reduce infrastructure costs while maintaining or improving service levels," said Marco Farsheed, CEO of DYS Analytics. "Usage Tracker results in significant cost savings and performance improvements by assisting customers in intelligent network cleanup and load-balancing."

Availability and Pricing
Usage Tracker is available now worldwide for Lotus Notes/Domino networks and is priced per seat based on the number of seats.
