DYS Analytics Ships Major Upgrade to CONTROL! Management Solutions for Microsoft Exchange and IBM Lotus Collaboration Products

"Efficiencize" Collaborative Applications, Confidently Perform Server Consolidations; Meet Today's Anti-Spam & Regulatory Needs, Ensure Production-Grade Infrastructure

WELLESLEY MA, July 28, 2004 - DYS Analytics, Inc., a leader in application performance management for messaging and collaboration applications, has shipped a major upgrade to its CONTROL! family that equips IT managers with the power to "Efficiencize" their Microsoft Exchange and IBM Lotus collaboration platforms. With CONTROL!, IT can operate these complex platforms at peak performance with lowest Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) to better cope with spam, expanded records retention requirements and increasingly complex IT networks. New CONTROL! capabilities include major enhancements such as IM chat logging and alerting, broader email trending analysis, automated end-user alerting and an optimized web-interface. The CONTROL! 4.2 solutions are available directly from DYS Analytics and through partners such as IBM.

IT staffs today are consolidating servers, balancing loads, auditing user accounts, tuning their infrastructure and redesigning topologies in an attempt to lower costs and maximize service. Yet IT managers often find their collaboration networks have grown far too complex to analyze, troubleshoot and optimize using traditional methods.

DYS CONTROL! "Efficiencizes" collaboration applications by providing comprehensive monitoring, alerting, trending, analysis and reporting of messaging and collaboration applications, enabling IT to:

  • Maximize Operational Effectiveness - CONTROL! gives IT an enterprise-wide view of their applications while supporting detailed analysis for fast troubleshooting and optimization. With CONTROL!, IT quickly identifies wasteful user behaviors and potential abuse, adjusts replication schedules to save bandwidth, balances server loads, and identifies untapped sources of productivity and cost-improvement.
  • Minimize Both Kinds of Spam - CONTROL! provides deep analysis of both Internet and internal email so IT can adjust and tune spam filters to optimally filter Internet spam, as well as revise email use policies to minimize internally-generated spam.
  • Efficiencize Server Consolidations and other Strategic Projects - CONTROL! determines current baseline activity so IT can efficiently and accurately model "what-if scenarios" to optimize server consolidations, platform upgrades, migrations, topology designs, application rollouts and capacity planning - thereby minimizing project costs, risks and organizational impact.
  • Provide Effective Regulatory Compliance - New capabilities for chat logging, IM keyword / key phrase searching and alerting allow IT to meet regulatory needs and quickly identify potential misuse or abuse.
  • Budget Accurately - Through CONTROL!, IT can accurately plan future capacity needs and budgets. IT no longer has to guess or use outdated assumptions as CONTROL! provides accurate and detailed enterprise-wide reports, trends and analysis.

The Operational Rigor that IT Staffs Need
"Collaboration solutions are mission-critical applications, yet many organizations still do not treat them with the same operational rigor they apply to other applications," said Matt Cain, senior vice president, content and collaboration strategies, at META Group, a leading provider of IT research, advisory services and strategic consulting. "Major IT initiatives to cope with spam, email hygiene, server consolidations and other daunting issues demand a fundamental understanding of how the enterprise collaboration network is used and how it performs -- something IT groups cannot get with manual analysis or extrapolation. Solutions that provide this deep analysis can be a significant asset in any major restructuring of the collaboration infrastructure."

"Our new CONTROL! solutions let IT analyze the millions of daily events across global enterprise collaboration networks, then harness that knowledge so staffs can confidently implement major projects and reduce operational costs while assuring high quality of service," said Stefan Mehlhorn, CEO of DYS Analytics.
