WELLESLEY, Mass., April 17, 2001 - IT organizations now have a more powerful suite of solutions to analyze and optimize email and replication traffic across enterprise-wide networks. Version 3.9 of the DYS CONTROL! suites, featuring Email Investigator, was announced today by DYS Analytics. The upgrade provides significantly enhanced capabilities to analyze complex messaging traffic and activity.
By pre-processing the data and creating an intelligent store of "analytical building blocks," large organizations can now easily and quickly produce critical metrics and trending data about their Lotus Notes®/Domino traffic. These metrics and trend analyses can be used to plan infrastructure requirements, optimize traffic across the network, substantially reduce infrastructure costs and improve service levels. DYS CONTROL! 3.9 will be available the week of April 23, 2001.
DYS CONTROL! 3.9 features an entirely new set of "task-oriented" analysis modes and performance enhancements for Email Investigator. With these new capabilities, Email Investigator provides IT organizations with critical traffic and performance information needed to execute major network-change projects (e.g, server consolidations, network mergers, hardware upgrades and migration to new messaging platforms) as well as support for daily operations, user support and network engineering tasks. Email Investigator can also be used to identify potential abuse or misuse of network resources that could expose the enterprise to costly security and liability risks. The product includes more than 80 standard reports categorized by specific task as well as a powerful report generator that allows users to easily create, save and distribute custom reports.
"With an anticipated volume of 35 billion emails per day worldwide by 2005, according to IDC, corporations are facing dramatic increases in messaging traffic across their enterprise networks," said Marco Farsheed, CEO of DYS Analytics. "At the same time, the pressure is on IT departments to cut costs and avoid unnecessary expenditures. To maximize the return on this key business-enabling technology, IT professionals need detailed information to plan and size the infrastructure correctly - and cost-effectively - and to allow them to optimize the flow of critical information to business users.
"The new capabilities of CONTROL! 3.9 are specifically designed to focus on major areas of concern such as router loads, network/bandwidth utilization, storage consumption and user activity patterns. Armed with this tangible, critical information, IT organizations can design and enforce more effective Service Level Agreements and proactively modify the network for maximum service levels, improved security and reduced infrastructure costs."
Additional New Features in DYS CONTROL! 3.9
Also new in CONTROL! 3.9 is a report automation engine which allows the products to run unattended, automatically generate reports, post them to a URL, and send email notification to designated recipients, directing them to the URL where the reports are posted - all without operator intervention. Report automation is now available in both the Email CONTROL! and Replication CONTROL! suites. Other changes in CONTROL! 3.9 include enhancements to the analysis engine technology underlying all CONTROL! products, as well as a variety of other feature and performance improvements.
