DYS Analytics Launches Email CONTROL! Desktop Edition, Embraces New IBM Lotus Platforms

Brings Real-Time and Historical Application Performance Management to Mid-Sized Networks; "Efficiencize" IBM Lotus Workplace and Team Workplace Platforms

 


ORLANDO, Fla., January 26, 2004 - At Lotusphere 2004 today, DYS Analytics, Inc., a leader in application performance management for messaging and collaboration applications, announced Email CONTROL! Desktop Edition, a targeted version of the company's flagship CONTROL! solution for email management for mid-tier organizations. Email CONTROL! Desktop Edition allows organizations with up to 5000 seats achieve greater email operational efficiency resulting in lower total cost of ownership (TCO) and higher quality of service (QoS). This new offering provides underserved email-based communities with both real-time and historical analysis of their collaboration infrastructure for fast problem resolution, improved QoS and deeper insight into their collaboration infrastructure. The new Email CONTROL! Desktop Edition is separately licensed and sold, and will initially be available for the IBM Lotus Domino messaging platform.

DYS also announced CONTROL! solutions for the IBM Lotus Workplace and IBM Team Workplace platforms. By providing critical application management capabilities for these newer IBM applications, DYS provides IT staffs the same TCO-lowering, QoS-increasing and SLA compliance benefits as they have achieved when using DYS CONTROL! with their existing Domino, Exchange and Sametime platforms. CONTROL! for IBM Lotus Workplace and IBM Lotus Team Workplace are separately licensed and sold.

All three new products are built on the new CONTROL! 4.2 Platform, also announced today, and will be available starting in April 2004.

"Efficiencize" Mid-Tier Email Collaboration
IT operation staffs at mid-tier organizations typically handle help-desk functions. Email CONTROL! Desktop Edition includes added features to better assist this staff in quickly resolving the continual flow of email performance Help Desk calls. By scoping Desktop Edition to mid-sized environments, the product has modest hardware and software requirements that support easy installation on typical desktop-class PCs. The new TrackNOW! feature helps IT immediately diagnose their messaging environment so immediate fixes can be applied. Desktop Edition also provides the same rich diagnostic capabilities as the enterprise edition of the product, with the same set of over 200 standard reports and custom reporting facilities through a drag and drop interface.

With Desktop Edition, IT staffs:

  • Troubleshoot Faster - IT staff can swiftly report, analyze and take immediate action on email related help-desk calls - for example, determining if the message is stuck within the network, the sender never actually sent the message or if the recipient never actually received it. They can better monitor user satisfaction and proactively adjust server, bandwidth and storage resources accordingly.
  • Enhance Security - with facilities to examine suspect usage patterns, unusually high traffic volumes and message traffic to/from competitors or suspect domains.
  • Meet Management Demands - to control costs, reduce liability, and budget / plan accurately for capacity. CONTROL! portals provide both summary and detailed analysis reports so management can easily view and understand operational use and health of their collaboration infrastructure.
  • Improve Performance of Mission-Critical Collaboration Services - with daily monitoring and reporting on critical information about mail volumes, senders, and recipients - and identification of organization-wide usage trends for capacity planning. With CONTROL, staffs can better assure SLA compliance, speed application rollouts, and spend more time planning as they are spending less time reacting to problems.
