DYS Analytics Helps Manage Public Instant Messaging (IM) Traffic On IBM Lotus Sametime Systems

Collaboration CONTROL! Adds Support for IBM Lotus Sametime Gateway; Boosts Security, Helps IT Better Control and Cope with Anticipated Surge in IM Traffic From AIM, GoogleTalk, Yahoo! Instant Messenger

WALTHAM, MA January 22, 2007 - DYS Analytics, Inc., whose innovative products and services manage today's top messaging platforms, announced a new version of its enterprise instant messaging management software, Collaboration CONTROL!, with support for the newly shipped IBM Lotus Sametime Gateway for interoperability with AIM, GoogleTalk and Yahoo! Instant Messenger. DYS' enhancement to Collaboration CONTROL! allows IT staffs to gain control of the anticipated surge in IM traffic on their systems as Sametime users interconnect with colleagues on public IM systems. With expanded features for chat logging, alerting and reporting, the new Collaboration CONTROL! also enhances security and helps IT more tightly manage IBM Lotus Sametime as the foundation for the real-time enterprise. DYS Analytics showcased Collaboration CONTROL! for Lotus Sametime at today's Lotusphere 2007 conference in Orlando FL in its booth #711.

The Lotus Sametime Gateway now unites over 70 percent of the world's IM users with industry-leading standards-based support. Yet Lotus Sametime Gateway installations are poised for skyrocketing IM traffic - with IT now inheriting full ownership of the IM platform management and costs.

DYS' software simplifies enterprise IM management by capturing all IM traffic running through the Lotus Sametime network - and assures this ever more critical infrastructure performs at or beyond expectations. The new Collaboration CONTROL! version expands the product's previous reports and analyses to also cover Lotus Sametime Gateway's supported public IM platforms. DYS' software lets IT monitor, analyze, and report on IM and Web conference use - to ensure appropriate use, tighten security, and monitor for regulation compliance. In addition, Collaboration CONTROL! performs Lotus Sametime health probing to ensure continual availability.

With the new Collaboration CONTROL! supporting Lotus Sametime Gateway, IT staff get the insight to:

  • Ensure Security and Compliance - By centrally alerting, archiving and reporting on all IM conversations, not only those in Sametime, IT has the tools to meet regulatory requirements as well as ensure IM conversations stay on track.
  • Keep Sametime at Peak Availability - with features that let IT quickly isolate issues in these increasingly complex real-time networks. This is essential as Lotus Sametime becomes as business critical as email and the web.
  • Guarantee SLA compliance - real-time probing and alerting of each Lotus Sametime server provides assurance that each is delivering IM and Web Conferencing functionality to the desktop within the Service Level Agreement (SLA) terms.
  • Ensure adoption - comprehensive and automated data collection, reporting and analysis that spans all IM traffic and provides IT insight to who is using Lotus Sametime and how they are using it.
  • Optimize server load balancing - by assessing who is using which server and to what degree, IT can ideally place Sametime servers where they are needed, when they are needed. Additional servers can be deployed as there is need.
  • Objectively prove Sametime ROI - by demonstrating broad use, IT can easily justify their Sametime budget and growth requirements.

Protecting the Hub of the Real-Time Enterprise

"The Lotus Sametime Gateway is meeting with resounding acclaim among our customer base, yet the increased traffic and complexity it's starting to bring means that management tools are pivotal to its adoption," said Richard April, vice president of marketing for DYS Analytics. "We're please to be among the early vanguard of third-party software providers to offer complementary solutions to the new Lotus Sametime Gateway solutions - so IT staffs can stay ahead of user demand and manage Lotus Sametime Gateway as the ever-more critical resource that it is for the successful enterprise."

What's New In Collaboration CONTROL!:

  • Additional reports and analysis features that let IT monitor public IM dialogues and verify their appropriate use. New features let IT quantify which and how often internal users are interacting with their public IM colleagues, verify that each external community is functioning properly, and tally public IM use by platform.
  • Integrated chat logging - so managers can view reports on ALL chats that take place - regardless whether they are pure Lotus Sametime or Lotus Sametime to public IM users. The new version also adds integrated alerting on keyword/keyphrase use within all chats.
  • More in-depth analysis features that now let managers drill down to the data they require.
